Many players considered Torchlight better than its competition when it first came out. This game was sometimes compared to Mass Effect due to its third-person perspective and how shooting felt when it first came out.

However, it is nothing like Mass Effect. Warframe lets you choose from a roster of highly customizable characters and then jump into a third-person co-op shooter all by yourself or with other players online. Chronicon is the epitome of similar but different. This is another game heavily inspired by Diablo and similar titles in many ways.

The campaign is relatively long. You can choose between Templar, Berserker, Warlock, and Warden. Chronicon is all about procedurally generated maps, much like other titles with similar gameplay, when it comes to the areas. When it comes to looting, there are over randomized items, including weapon buffs, new powers, and item sets that can completely change how you play the game.

According to the developers, DeadPoly is a polygon zombie survival looter shooter with base building and crafting. All you need to do in this game is to survive, but how you go about it and whatever you do while trying to survive is entirely up to you. That freedom of choice coupled with what appears to be an interesting craft system makes DeadPoly look like a very fun single-player looter-shooter. There are hundreds of unique items to collect, including a wide range of weapons and clothing pieces.

This is one of my favorite indie games, and one of the best Bullet Hell games on Steam. It also has a dodge roll with invulnerability during a few frames, which is always a good mechanic and reference.

The player must fight their way through rooms of enemies and use items found in that room to help them progress further. There are four playable characters in Enter the Gungeon; each character has a unique primary weapon that synergizes well with their special ability. When it comes to playing this game, it is super fun. There are tons of guns and items for players to find, a good variety of enemies, and fun bosses. I do think that Shadow Warrior 2 is one of the best indie, loot games on Steam.

It even has a co-op mode that allows you to team up with your friend to deal with interdimensional demons. The soul of a girl is attached to the main character. Basically, you will have to kill a bunch of demons to make this girl return to her body. The game has a lot of looting involved in its gameplay, with tons of weapons and mods that you can acquire throughout the game.

The graphics are good enough for an indie title. In my honest opinion, the gameplay is reminiscent of Doom , which is fantastic. The writing helps since Shadow Warrior 2 can be quite funny sometimes.

Both Risk of Rain and its sequel are roguelike games that throw you on an alien planet with the objective of surviving hordes of aliens.
