The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively. Like the original Portal , players solve puzzles by placing portals and teleporting between them. Portal 2 adds features including tractor beams, lasers, light bridges, and paint-like gels that alter player movement or allow portals to be placed on any surface.

Portal 2 is a first-person perspective puzzle game. The goal of both campaigns is to explore the Aperture Science Laboratory—a complicated, malleable mechanized maze. While most of the game takes place in modular test chambers with clearly defined entrances and exits, other parts occur in behind-the-scenes areas where the objective is less clear. The initial tutorial levels guide the player through the general movement controls and illustrate how to interact with the environment.

The whole gameplay is solving puzzles by using portals you can travel through. You can shoot up to two portals — one being entrance and another one is where you exit after entering the first one. Pretty simple heh? Some will be easy and some will be tougher to solve but they are done in such a manner that neither of them are too hard to frustrate you and it feels rewarding when you finally got it right.
